Breaking out a board game might not be at the top of your list of things to do on a Friday night, but allow us to try to change your mind. If you’re a fellow bébé or disgruntled pelican, you absolutely need the new Monopoly: Schitt’s Creek Edition. Now you can welcome Johnny, Moira, David, and Alexis Rose into your home and enjoy tidbits from the beloved Canadian TV series via board game.
Instead of the classic Monopoly board, which is based off of Atlantic city, this version starts with locations you know from Schitt’s Creek. You’ll see properties, including the Rosebud Motel, Bob’s Garage, Town Hall, Herb Ertlinger Winery, the veterinary clinic, and more. Of course, you’ll need a game piece to move around the board, and they’re also an ode to the series. You can play as Moira’s Wig, David’s Sunglasses, Rosebud Motel Key, Bébé Crow, Ted the Turtle, and Patrick’s Guitar. We know, it’s going to be a tough choice.
The Schitt’s Creek references don’t stop there! You’ll be picking up Hello You and Love That Journey for Me cards, and trying to keep the small town afloat while paying rent and taxes, like Roland’s truck and “That’s Not a Write Off!” The details are what really make the Monopoly: Schitt’s Creek Edition as amazing as the show.
This new board game was just announced, so you can be among the first to snag it. It’s available on The Op Games’ website for $39.99. It was designed for two to six players, ages 14 and up, and has a playing time of more than 60 minutes. We all know you have to commit for the long haul when playing Monopoly, but something tells us that won’t be a problem with this version.
Maybe the town Schitt’s Creek isn’t the nicest place to live, but it’s certainly a place Where Everyone Fits In. That’s the motto we’re going to take with us as we play this game — and then maybe dance to “A Little Bit Alexis” when we inevitably win.
